Now there are chaises..and chaises. But this lovely Victorian walnut beauty is up there in the scrumptious and well-made category. Heavy frame decorated with luscious carved Rococo scrolls and acanthus leaves. Beautifully reupholstered in a rich Warwick Jaccard of tulip shaped flowers and leaves in the colour combo of ruby, fawn and forest greens. Allover reasonable condition, with a little wriggle on the back (typical of chaise), so I would be inclined to have it backed onto the wall. Upon fat porcelain castors; and she comes with bolster cushions. Very comfy for reclining and room for the fur baby cuddling too. Circa 1885.
