Turkish Hearth Rug

I have a feeling this handsomely poppy red, thick nap, hearth rug is Turkish.  Wool on cotton, feels and looks like Ghord knots.  Scarlet red background - just like the Turkish springtime roadside poppies, a central blue and tan medallion, with abstract flowers and star motifs.  Suits any pot where a pop of colour is needed and seems agreeable to any sort of furniture - old, new, futuristic, nil!  Excellent condition albeit a bit of red run into the fringe.  Circa 1980.
