Tunbridge Writing Slope

Write, right?  This divine Tunbridge ware writing slope is practical for storing your writing gear and looks so wonderful as a decorative object.   Furthermore, makes for a pretty lovely auspicious present!   Fat bands of geometric mosaic inlay look like straps on the caramel coloured burr walnut box.  Mother of pearl lozenges surround the escutcheon and centre the lid.  The ebonised interior has a bright mint velvet skivver, with popout quill cubby, two original ink wells.   Sorry, no key.   Excellent condition.  Circa 1900.
