The ultimate in minimalism... monkhood. Seen here in oak: bench seat, fliptop storage box, and fliptop table - an English furniture maker's example of a homely monk seat. An excellent storage spot with nearly 0.2 cubic metres of box space, handy for shoes and outdoorsy stuff, or blankets. Eye-pleasing in roasted almond colours, with carved lion handles, carved folding seat back and linen fold front box panels. Excellent condition. Circa 1960.
