Flemish carved Oak Writing Desk

This medium sized, Flemish Greenman writing desk has fantastic all-around facades.   It would make a grand centrepiece, as it is all around dashing.   The Greenman drawer handles (almost lionlike) are swagged with oak leaf reliefs; then the sides and the back of the desk are flanked with more oak leaves and banners.  The original charcoal hued, leather skivver is bordered with carved half rounds friezes.  Neat finish too with the barley twist legs and stretcher.    Delicious fudgy colours.  Excellent condition.  Circa 1885.
