sold sold sold ... Pair of Karpen & Bros Throne Chairs

A pair of fantastical, American made, oversized, walnut throne chairs.  Heavily fantasy carved Francophile style cherubs and griffins with scrolls, leaves and acorn finials; along with barley twist columns.  Wicker seat base and back.   Gorgeous rich brown colours, with wonderful worn off colour arms.  The chairs come with lovely cushion squabs in a thick and modern tapestry cotton in a zigzag pattern of beiges, blues and purples.  These squabs help spread the weight across the wicker.  Excellent condition, just the odd little break of a strand of wicker... worse one is on one chair, please see the picture.  Being sold at $1790.00 for the pair.  Circa 1890.
